Making an Impact - Jelly Bean Class with Scott Krohn

ONLINE WORKSHOP: November 14, 2026 • 8:00 a.m. Pacific Time: 60 minutes Limited to 35 students Can't attend? All registrants receive a video. What Makes You Look Twice? Sometimes a drawing stops you in your tracks. What gives it that power? And how can you bring a little more of that compelling magic into your own work? Join Scott Krohn for Making an Impact, a live discussion about the choices that can set an award-winning piece apart. Scott will share insights from his experience as a juror, exploring how subject matter, composition, and other visual elements can catch the eye of your viewer and hold a juror's attention. If you've ever wondered what makes a judge reach for that 1st place ribbon, you'll want to pull up a chair! And you won’t even need to sharpen a pencil - no supplies needed for this presentation. You will learn: • How to decide on subject matter that is impactful. • What art elements to focus on in your artwork in order to be impactful. • What many jurors look for when they decide on awards and acceptances into shows. About Scott Krohn: Scott has been teaching art for more than 25 years and has exhibited his work nationally and internationally. His work has won numerous awards including the CPSA International Exhibition CIPPY Award for Best of Show. What's a Jelly Bean Class?
