Roycroft Copper Shop (est. 1895) Letter Opener Brass Finish, Hand-Hammered 11 ¼” long Description: A fine Roycroft letter opener with a long and tapered blade with pointed tip, the handle is arched and terminates in a triple split scroll finial. Markings: stamped Roycroft orb logo, circa 1920-1928 Artist/Maker Biography: Roycroft (est. 1895), East Aurora, New York. A reformist community of craft workers and artists they formed part of the American Arts and Crafts movement. Founded by Elbert Green Hubbard (1856-1915), a writer, artist, philosopher and publicist they strove for the highest quality artisan objects.
