Its production differs significantly from Green Chartreuse and involves a meticulous, multi-week process, crafted with care by the Chartreux Fathers: • The monks grind the botanicals in the plant room at the Grande Chartreuse monastery. • The mixture is distilled to capture its aromatic essence. • Multiple maceration stages extract the active ingredients from the plants and impart the liqueur’s natural color and complexity. The liqueur then ages for an extended period in truncated cone-shaped oak vats, before being bottled. It continues to evolve and develop even greater complexity in the bottle. Tasting Note from Chartreuse: An intense yellow color, a fresh and spicy nose. A soft structure. Scents of turmeric, citrus and anise. Floral notes extend the tasting.
