Fress Takes: A Sweet Evening with Leah Koenig Saturday November 7, 2026

We're closing out the season the only way that makes sense: with dessert. Lots of it. Leah Koenig is an IACP Award-winning author of seven cookbooks, including The Jewish Cookbook and PORTICO: Cooking and Feasting in Rome's Jewish Kitchen — and this fall she's releasing her most joyful book yet: The Dessert Table: 100 Joyful Jewish Sweets. She's bringing it to Columbus for its very first public celebration. The evening begins with Havdalah, the beautiful ceremony that marks the close of Shabbat, before Leah leads a hands-on dessert demo and workshop where you'll make recipes straight from the new book. Then we eat — at an ice cream social to close out the night. Copies of The Dessert Table will be available for purchase and signing, so you can leave with both a sugar high and a new favorite cookbook.
