Crafted by The Macallan Whisky Maker, Russell Greig, the whisky was distilled in 2007 ("2-007") and matured for 18 years. What makes this release particularly unique is its maturation. Alongside The Macallan's signature sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks, the whisky incorporates American oak casks that previously held red wine—the first time The Macallan has used red wine casks in such a release. This innovative cask combination was inspired by key scenes in the film where Bond's expertise in sherry and wine plays a crucial role.
