G L E N A L L A C H I E Speyside single malt Cask #171841 Refill Oloroso Sherry Hogshead (2.5 yr 2nd maturation) Distilled October 2012 12 years old 59.3% / 70cl 240 bottles Nose: There’s a delicate fruitiness to the nose here, which suggested a bubblegum sweetness and some zesty lemon peel. Palate: Immediately there’s a rich, mouth coating texture bringing a lovely butteriness. We were reminded of white chocolate coated shortbread! There’s also a bit of orange blossom followed with many sweetness. Finish: Lingering baking spices like cloves and cinnamon. An oaky robustness reminds us that this is cask strength but pleasingly so.
