Glow Star
Free glow star STL file - 3D print the star from our video, then bring it to life with SNAILWORKS glow powder. You asked, so here it is. This is the exact star we featured in our viral video, free to download and print at home. What you'll need: -Any 3D printer -Any filament for your printer -Mold release or lubricant (vaseline / ptfe lube / silicone lube / mold release spray) -Any 2-part epoxy resin -Any Snailworks glow dust/powder/chunks -Something to mix it in (disposable cups work great) -Something to mix it with (lollipop sticks work great) What to do: -Download the STL file and print it with your chosen printer and filament (best to print off a few in case you have left-over resin later). -Apply a thin layer of mold release to the inside of the mold. Make it thin, but be sure to cover the whole inside. -Mix up a small amount of epoxy resin according to its instructions. (Not mixing it thoroughly enough is the biggest mistake first-time epoxy users make - really scrape the sides of what you're mixing it in). -Add the glow powder to the mixture. You can easily mix 50% resin / 50% powder by volume. We've used up to around 70% powder before, but a bit of trial and error is best here. -Pour it into the mold. If the mixture is thick, tease it into the corners with a cocktail stick or similar. -Wait for the epoxy to cure fully, according to your epoxy's instructions. -Remove it from the mold. If it's a bit stuck, go slowly. If the star snaps, don't worry, you can glue it back together with more epoxy! -Enjoy your creation! -Show us! Tag us in a story or post on Instagram or Tiktok.
