Chateau Doisy Vedrines Vintage 2003

Château Doisy-Védrines is based in the commune of Barsac in the Sauternes appellation. The estate was rated a Second Growth in the 1855 classification of Sauternes and Barsac.The 35-hectare (86-acre) vineyard was originally part of a wider Doisy holding established in the area in 1704. In the years following the French revolution, the estate began to fracture, divided into Château Doisy-Védrines, Chateau Doisy-Daine and Château Doisy-Dubroca. 2003 was an excellent vintage for the sweet wines of Bordeaux 28/04/2025 - 90 Points Deep golden to amber, somewhere between honey and maple syrup. Smells like apricot nectar, honey, fresh herbs, wet rocks, mango, peach, apple, floral; pretty intoxicating. Full body with viscosity, medium acid and finish, with flavors of apricots in syrup, mango, lemon , honey, orange peel, spice. Interesting, tasty, and fairly balanced, though I would take a bit more acid.
