19 NOV | LITERARY CONVERSATIONS ABOUT ASIA, with Luís Bernardino
Drawing Southeast Asia and Taiwan In this talk, Luís Bernardino travels through Vietnam via drawing, where pages become a territory of discovery. Through travel notebooks, he records stories that cross places, characters, and everyday situations - even touching on moments of censorship. The compositions, sometimes chaotic, explore a sensory language that unites observation and imagination. The session follows this graphic and reflective journey, challenging the viewer, through a blank page, to embark on a journey guided by the curious, yet sometimes forgotten, gaze of a child. Biographical Note Luís Bernardino (Mafra, 1995) lives and works in Lisbon. His work extends across the entertainment industry as a digital artist and live illustrator at ceremonies. He has exhibited in Portugal, Poland, and Vietnam. Wherever he goes, he carries a sketchbook and an analog camera to capture the moment. His interest in a loose record of everyday life and the spontaneity of life led him to Vietnam, where he lived for three years. Luís draws to anchor himself in the present, in a constantly moving world.
