My Best Friend's Geraniums and Other Flowers

This small painting lived on a wall in our basement for quite some time after its first iteration. Every time I passed it, I felt there was something unresolved about it—something asking for another layer, another conversation. Bringing it back into the studio turned out to be pure joy. I added bright red geraniums, imagined flowers in pinks, whites, and yellows, and even a smiling little bumble bee. Thick with texture and layered history, the painting finally feels complete to me now—full of movement, warmth, and happiness. It truly sings.
