Slow stitching is a mindful, intuitive approach to sewing that focuses on the process rather than the outcome. Using simple hand embroidery and stitching techniques, you will create textured, layered designs that tell a story through fabric. It is creative, calming, and deeply grounding - perfect for anyone seeking a gentle, therapeutic craft experience. What You’ll Learn During this mindful stitching workshop, you will be guided through a variety of simple and versatile hand-sewing techniques, including: • Basic decorative stitches • Layering and textile composition • Adding texture and dimension • Creative upcycling methods • Developing your own unique stitching style You will leave with the confidence and skills to continue your piece at home and incorporate slow stitching into your everyday life What to Bring Please bring along a base item you would like to upcycle, such as: • Denim jeans • A jacket • A cushion cover • A fabric piece or garment All other materials, threads, and embellishments are provided. A Gentle Note This is a relaxed, process-led workshop. Depending on your pace, you may or may not complete your piece during the session. But you will leave with everything you need - skills, inspiration, and materials - to continue your project at home. PLEASE NOTE: This class will be held in our upstairs studio and does not have wheelchair access. Our workshop tickets are non refundable, but if you are aware you will be unable to attend, you may pass your ticket to someone else you wish to come in your place. We do require a minimum number of people to run each class. In the rare event we do not meet the minimum numbers required to run a class, you will be offered your choice of a class transfer to a new date or a full refund. In the event you forget to come or you are unable to attend a workshop, the ticket is non transferable after the event. Whilst arriving, attending and leaving the workshops, it is your responsibility to ensure that you maintain and adhere to all safety precautions and requirements during the workshop.
