Sharp Height Leveling Tool
The sharp key leveler makes quick work of leveling sharps, once the naturals have been leveled. Top height adjustment knob is easy to grip and turn. No screw to bind on plunger or back out and become lost. Plastic base will not scratch key tops. Top of plunger and adjustment knob are the same color, making it easier to visually see the level. How to Use: 1. Once the white keys are leveled, level a sharp key to your target height above the naturals (see the Sharp Gauges). 2. Loosen the locking nut from the base to allow the top adjuster to rotate freely. 3. Position the level tool over the front part of the regulated target key as shown in the photo. The bottom of the floating plunger contacts the top of the sharp key, lifting it upward. 4. Rotate the top adjuster to raise or lower until the top of the adjustment knob is perfectly flush with the top of the floating plunger. 5. While holding the adjuster in place so it cannot rotate, lower the locking nut (rotate clockwise) until it locks against the base of the tool. The leveler is now adjusted to duplicate the target sharp height on every key. 6. Place the leveler on each key to determine of the key is high or low. This should be done both visually, and by feel (if you place your fingertip on the top of the leveler, it is easy to feel if the plunger is flush with the adjuster). Add or remove balance rail punchings to raise or lower the key so that the plunger top is flush with the adjuster top.
