Off Season
Off Season debuted in 2024 at Toqueur Gallery in Amsterdam, but it had been sitting with me for over a decade. The image traces back to the winter of 2009 to 2010, after we moved to Venice Beach and the rain came in and stayed. Weeks of it. The boardwalk emptied. The light shifted into something I had not seen before: low, dense, slow. A beach town with nobody watching. The soft saturation of a place that lets its guard down. The honesty of an empty boardwalk in bad weather.
