Bare aluminum forms an oxide layer that increases contact resistance over time — a problem for high-current battery interconnects. The electroless nickel (EN) plating on each Lithium Block™ busbar solves this: Corrosion resistance — EN creates a uniform, pore-free barrier against oxidation, even in humid or marine environments. Low, stable contact resistance — nickel surface maintains consistent conductivity across M6 bolt joints over the life of the pack. Lightweight vs. copper — aluminum substrate keeps busbar mass low without sacrificing current-carrying capacity at Lithium Block™ operating currents. Belleville washers maintain preload — included spring washers compensate for thermal cycling and vibration to prevent joint loosening.
