8487 Musical Fidelity P173 Stereo Preamplifier with External Power Supply — Excellent Condition | MM & MC Phono | Fully Tested The Musical Fidelity P173 is a full-function stereo preamplifier produced by Musical Fidelity of Great Britain — a company founded by Antony Michaelson in London in 1982 that became one of the most distinctive voices in British hi-fi design during the 1980s and 1990s. The P173 sits towards the top of Musical Fidelity’s preamplifier range from that era and was produced in response to demand for a Musical Fidelity preamp that incorporated tone controls alongside the full input complement expected of a serious reference-level preamplifier. It was designed to partner the P270-2 power amplifier, though it will work well with any power amplifier of suitable sensitivity. This example is in excellent condition, supplied with its external power supply unit, and has been fully tested and confirmed to be working correctly by Callum in our workshop.
