Apple and Pear Grafting — Fri 28th August | 10:30AM - 1:00PM

Join Mangaroa Farms for Apple and Pear Grafting with Heritage Nursery. Learn how to graft your own fruit trees, starting with apples and pears. Grow your own kai from flavourful heritage varieties or a family or community favourite tree. Learn time-tested skills that, with practice, mean you can cheaply and reliably propagate fruit trees of your choosing. Your ticket includes two apple or pear rootstocks and your choice of scion from a wide range of apple and pear varieties. Group size is limited to a dozen per session to allow for proper supervision and guidance. Additional rootstock may be available on the day, depending on bookings. Please contact us at heritagenurseynz@gmail.com to discuss. Grafting knives are provided but bring your own (clean and sharp) if you have one. We'll work inside so this event goes ahead whatever the weather. We'll explain how to look after your new trees once you get them home. Bring a bucket or sack to safely transport them. Grafting requires sharp blades and steady hands: this is not an appropriate event for young children or pets, for their own and others' safety. However we are next to the farm and there is plenty of running space for older tamariki.
