At the Pond, a 9-week study from our Ready to Read series, is book 2 of 4 in the full-year program and explores the fascinating world of pond habitats—from insects and plants to the animals that live there. It has been given a fresh, clean look while still maintaining the flexibility for you to start anywhere in the program to meet your child’s developmental needs. This new and improved version will introduce children to animal friends like Tanya the Turtle and Dottie the Dragonfly to help them make meaningful connections with their learning. The Bible Connection section has also been totally revamped, with each age-appropriate devotional tying directly into the content from the lesson, allowing even the youngest learners to see how God has created it all, from the tiniest water flea to the impressively large great egret. Ready to Read covers all subjects, including math, with short, engaging lessons and hands-on activities your kids will love. The reading portion of this second installation focuses on three-letter words, word families, sight words, consonant blends, digraphs, and fluency in reading. Math pages introduce big-picture concepts like place value, money, and time.
