Italian Strawberry Cheesecake

FRESH STRAWBERRY COMPOTE VANILLA MASCARPONE CREAM CHEESE GRANDMA'S SHORTCAKE PIECES ITALIAN WOOD FIRED CRUST Our annual Strawberry Dessert Pizza is here! I still make my Grandma's old fashioned sheetcake-shortcake for this one, but now I cut it into littler bits n' pieces than what's pictured here. Because you really should have a shortcake morsel in every bite. The shortcake pieces sit atop my fresh strawberry compote, and that is sitting on a smooth layer of vanilla-laced mascarpone cream cheese (made with milk from our farm thanks to BelGioioso). I wish the berry season was longer and that the weather would cooperate so that we could have this pizza more than once a year.
