Dog Days

This original stencil painting by Melbourne artist Geoff Cunningham is painted with hand-cut stencils and aerosol, and is part of Cunningham’s Australian nostalgia series; revisiting the ordinary moments that shaped childhood before anyone felt the need to record everything. Before every spare minute had to be filled, boredom was just part of being a kid. 'Dog Days' captures one of those slow summer moments - a boy and his dog waiting on the dropped tailgate of an old station wagon, with nothing much happening and nowhere to be. No screen, no schedule, no entertainment. Just heat, time, the family dog and a Big Banana M to pass the time. 60 x 60cm (63 x 63 framed), Acrylic, & aerosol on canvas, this piece is framed in a natural oak floating frame. * This piece is available exclusively through Art To Art Gallery.
