WW1 German 9mm Parabellum P08 – Spandau May 1916 – Inert

Original First World War German 9×19mm Parabellum (Pistolenpatrone 08) cartridge dating from 1916. The headstamp is marked S / 5 / 16, identifying Spandau manufacture and dating the case to May 1916. Spandau was one of the important German state ammunition facilities, and documented WWI 9mm ammunition confirms the use of Spandau-manufactured cases during this period. The cartridge is fitted with the round-nosed jacketed projectile associated with the change in German P08 ammunition during 1916. Specialist cartridge research records that the German Army moved from the earlier truncated-cone projectile to the round-nosed pattern during that year. A particularly interesting dated WWI German 9mm variation, ideal for a Luger P08, Great War ammunition or German headstamp collection.
