Our new Faith range is available to view and try at our Darwen showroom, open seven days a week. ✨ Faith Blood Moon Venus – FVBMB ✨ There are some acoustic guitars that immediately command attention, and the Faith Blood Moon Venus is undoubtedly one of them. An award-winning design and one of the most distinctive instruments in Faith’s range, the Blood Moon combines exceptional all-solid tonewood construction with breathtaking natural figuring, premium appointments and a rich, beautifully balanced acoustic voice. Introduced in 2017, the Blood Moon quickly established itself as one of Faith’s most recognisable designs, earning numerous awards and considerable praise for both its appearance and musical performance. At the centre of its appeal is highly figured solid Indonesian Trembesi, used for the top, back and sides. Unlike more conventional acoustic tonewoods, Trembesi can display an extraordinary variety of natural grain patterns, ranging from sweeping flames and dramatic dark figuring to softer, flowing lines. No two examples are quite alike. The particular guitar we have selected for Chordplay features some truly beautiful figuring, with rich colour variation and dramatic grain patterns across the body. We have photographed this individual instrument in detail so you can appreciate the actual timber, colour and figuring. The guitar shown in our photographs is the exact guitar you will receive, not a manufacturer’s stock image. Exceptional All-Solid Trembesi Construction The Blood Moon Venus is constructed entirely from carefully selected, solid Javanese Trembesi. This remarkable tropical tonewood is prized not only for its appearance but also for its balanced acoustic properties. Tonally, Trembesi shares some characteristics with mahogany, delivering a warm, rounded midrange, excellent note separation and a naturally musical response. There is also an attractive brightness and harmonic detail in the upper frequencies, giving the guitar an articulate quality without sacrificing warmth. The result is an expressive, versatile instrument equally suited to fingerstyle playing, detailed chord work and confident strumming. Internally, the soundboard features hand-scalloped quarter-sawn spruce bracing, developed around Patrick James Eggle’s X-bracing design. This carefully considered construction allows the solid top to respond freely, encouraging resonance, sustain and excellent dynamic range. The Iconic Faith Venus Body The Venus is the body shape that helped establish Faith Guitars’ reputation and remains one of the most popular designs in the company’s range. Inspired by traditional auditorium and OM-style instruments, the Venus features a comfortable 15-inch lower bout and relatively shallow body depth. This provides an excellent balance between acoustic projection and playing comfort. It has enough presence for confident strumming while retaining the sensitivity and response needed for more delicate fingerstyle playing. The elegant cutaway provides access to the upper frets, making the Blood Moon equally suitable for home playing, songwriting, recording and live performance. Beautiful Premium Appointments The quality of the Blood Moon extends well beyond its remarkable timber. The body is finished in a rich, transparent Blood Moon Burst, allowing the natural character of the Trembesi to remain clearly visible beneath the high-gloss finish. Beautiful solid flamed maple binding provides an elegant contrast around the body, while a substantial 5mm abalone rosette surrounds the soundhole. Faith has also used Macassan figured ebony for the fingerboard and bridge, adding another beautifully figured hardwood to the specification. The 12th fret carries Faith’s distinctive mother-of-pearl ‘F’ inlay, while gold Grover Rotomatic machine heads complement the warm colouring of the body. A mahogany neck with satin finish, 16-inch fingerboard radius and 43mm TUSQ nut gives the guitar a comfortable, refined playing feel. Every detail has been chosen to complement the instrument rather than distract from its natural beauty. Fishman INK3 Electronics For amplified playing, the Blood Moon Venus is equipped with the Fishman INK3 preamp and Sonicore undersaddle pickup system. The discreet, flush-mounted preamp retains the elegant appearance of the guitar while providing comprehensive control over its amplified sound. The Blood Moon Venus is supplied with its original Faith woodshell hard case, featuring a shaped interior with soft plush lining. The case provides excellent protection for transport and storage and completes the premium presentation of this guitar. It is a significant inclusion and further enhances the overall package. Individual Wood Figuring – The Actual Guitar Photographed One of the reasons we’re particularly excited about this guitar is the beautiful natural variation in its Trembesi. The warm Blood Moon finish enhances the darker areas of grain, creating a striking combination of flowing figuring and contrasting colour. Because Trembesi is a natural material, another Blood Moon Venus may look noticeably different, even though the model and specification are identical.
