An unusual and distinctive selection of Galanthus woronowii, ‘Cider with Rosie’ is an inverse poculiform form, in which the outer segments are modified to resemble the inner segments. The flowers carry attractive pale green markings on both the inner and outer segments, creating a distinctive green-and-white appearance. These are particularly effective against the bright, glossy green foliage characteristic of the species. A relatively subtle snowdrop, its unusual floral structure is best appreciated close up. The original plant was reportedly spotted by perry maker Kevin Minchew in a Gloucestershire garden centre. Colin Mason subsequently undertook the first twin-scaling of the selection and offered it for sale, playing an important role in its introduction into cultivation. Grow in humus-rich, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil, in partial shade. Like other forms of G. woronowii, it appreciates adequate moisture during active growth. Hardiness: H5 Height: To be confirmed Spread: Clump-forming Flowering: February–March
