Around The Blooming Heather Pendant

’Around The Blooming Heather’ is inspired by the colours of the land in late summer and early autumn here in Mull when the hillsides look purple with flowering heather. The design name comes from lyrics in the Scottish folk song Wild Mountain Thyme. The pendant is made up of 3 separate rings that are enamelled in bright green, lime green and purple. The pendant hangs loosely on a twisted silver chain. This looseness makes the pendant dynamic as it moves and twists as the wearer moves. Sometimes it lies on the enamelled coloured side and sometimes on the silver side that is indented with a heathery pattern. Sometimes the 3 rings lie flat and sometimes they stack. The wearer could easily turn one ring around so there is a mix of silver and colour on each side. There is a similar version of the pendant available in turquoise and blue enamel called Iona Blues. There is a complementary earring available in either green or purple enamel. The pendant measures 2.4 cm in diameter and it hangs directly from a twisted sterling silver chain which can be 16″, 18″, 20″ or 22″ long. The 3 rings are separate, the largest ring has an outer diameter of 2.4cm. My jewellery is pure silver and is handmade from recycled silver by me here in the beautiful Isle of Mull.
