Vintage Richard Begay Horse Silver Buckle

Richard Begay (1943–2013) was a celebrated and award-winning Navajo master silversmith known for his exquisite mosaic and channel inlay work. He was born and raised in Navajoland, Arizona and became tenured at the Santa Fe Indian Market. His work is featured in permanent collections at the Smithsonian Institution and Heard Museum. A dynamic buckle featuring a central cast overlay of a running horse, flanked by a freeform turquoise stone, a small coral cabochon, and framed entirely by asymmetric leaf applique and scrollwork. Stamped. Fits a 1 3/4 inch belt or smaller. Belt not included, but the one shown is available elsewhere on the site.
