Shyama Maa Kali French Terry Cotton Full Sleeves T-Shirt | Unisex

Of all the figures Bengal has painted, sung and sculpted, none has been imagined as fearlessly as Shyama. Shyama means the dark one. For Bengal's artists, that darkness has never meant absence. It is the boldest canvas there is: the night itself, with nothing to hide behind and everything to say. The patuas of Kalighat painted her in bold, confident strokes. Poets like Ramprasad Sen gave her words. Every generation of Bengali artists has come back to her and drawn her again in its own hand, because no other subject asks an artist to be this brave. This is a contemporary artist's take on that long tradition, made on two canvases: one on the front of the T-shirt and one on the back. Wear it on Kali Puja night, when the whole city is out, lit and loud. Wear it all winter. Built for the Bengali winter. This is 240 GSM French terry cotton, the weight of a sweatshirt in the shape of a T-shirt. It's smooth outside and soft and looped inside, with a ribbed collar and cuffs that hold their shape. The double stitching at the shoulder, hem and cuffs is made to last many winters. What does 240 GSM mean? GSM is how heavy the cloth is. Our regular T-shirts are 180 GSM. This one is 240, 1.33x the weight, so it feels thick and soft, holds its shape, and keeps you warm through the winter. Why it stands apart. Art on both sides, heavier cloth than our regular tees, stronger stitching, and a fabric that feels as good in January as it did on the first day.
