COLOMBIA EDERLETH LOZANO MOLINA
Tasting Notes: Crispin Apple, Maple Candy, Coconut, Mint Chocolate A 2024 Golden Bean Medalist, this coffee from Ederleth Lozano Molina is one of the most unique flavor profiles we've ever tasted. Tropical, fruity, chocolaty and minty, it is a decadent, rich treat! Finca Cosita Linda, Ederleth's farm, is located in an extremely steep, remote location in the mountains of Huila. Dedicated to biodiversity, she is an incredibly talented grower, as well as a gracious host. In 2017, we visited Colombia, where we had the pleasure of helping judge a local micro-lot competition held at the "Coffee for Peace" festival. In a blind tasting, we discovered Ederleth's coffee, which came in second place out of over 260 entries. After falling in-love with the cup, we went to visit Ederleth’s farm. Climbing up the steep mountainside farm, we were greeted with an expansive view, and Ederleth’s warm hospitality. Since 2017, we have continued to buy coffee from Ederleth, and remain equally impressed each year with her new harvests. Ederleth’s Coffee is sourced through Azahar Coffee, an organization that connects small, quality focused farmers from around Colombia with roasters such as ourselves. They diligently work to find the best coffees being grown in Colombia such as this one. The combination of tart and sweet notes in this coffee are perfectly balanced, showcasing Ederleth’s exceptional growing skills.
