Nolvis X1 Range Extender

Nolvis X1 Range Extender: Fly Confined Spaces With the Antennas Closer to the Aircraft The Nolvis X1 Range Extender moves the X1 controller's antennas closer to the aircraft with two 65.6 ft (20 m) coaxial extension cables. Inside a tank, shaft, or similar structure, metal walls and doors weaken the link when you hold the controller at your position. This kit places the antennas where they have a clear line of sight, such as near a manway, while you stay at a safe distance outside. It needs no battery and no charging. Nolvis has verified a directional and an omnidirectional antenna running together on the tripod bracket. In Nolvis testing, signal strength with the 20 m cables matched a direct connection when nothing stood in the way, while a door or wall caused image break-up and lag. The kit works with the Nolvis X1 controller. Key Features and Benefits Extension cables: two 65.6 ft (20 m) cables, one per channel Dual antennas: directional and omnidirectional units work together on one bracket Clear sightline: place antennas where the aircraft can see them Signal retention: matches a direct connection when the path is clear No power: nothing to charge, connect and switch the controller on Tripod: sets antenna height and angle, rated to 17.6 lb (8 kg) Uplink bandwidth: up to approx. 17,000 kbps under good radio conditions Signal bars: controller screen shows link strength at the aircraft In confined-space inspection, the radio link is the first thing a wall or door takes away. The Range Extender fixes that by letting the antennas sit with the aircraft while the crew stays clear of the hazard. Pair it with your site's entry permits and gas testing, since it does not replace those procedures.
