On a ground of deep ultramarine and glossy black, one red gesture runs diagonally through the canvas in both directions and breaks open into four bursts where the paint left the brush. The cross is older than any alphabet: a mark of place, of choice, of crossing out and of meeting. Here it is all of them at once — a refusal that turns into a point of light, a junction where two paths agree to become one event. The blue behind it is not empty. It is dense and scattered with red, like stars caught mid-flight. The work offers a single thing: the moment before a decision, held still. Questions about this work?
