ʻOnipaʻa On My Mind

This piece was inspired by our Queen Liliʻuokalani. The only queen regnant and last sovereign monarch of the Hawaiian Kingdom until the overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom. The diamond butterfly brooch was a favorite of hers worn in official royal photos. The quote, "E ʻonipaʻa i ka ʻimi naʻauao" meaning, "be steadfast in the seeking of knowledge", was the Queen's personal motto. Digital illustration hand drawn by JT Ojerio, the artist behind Aloha de Mele. Inspired by Hawaii's beauty, culture, and people, each art piece was created to make a statement, exude good vibes, and spread the aloha spirit.
