Coste Taurasi DOCG 2012
Our Score: 93 Thanks to the unique soil and micro-climate of the Taurasi sub region, the Aglianico grape grown there becomes bold and strong, which is why Taurasi received the DOCG status. Coste is macerated for 45 days on indigenous yeasts before completing its fermentation in wood barrels. On the nose, we get blue and red berries, dry red flowers, clove and eucalyptus, black pepper, herbaceous notes; a touch of pomace adds complexity. On the palate it is tannic and sapid, fruity and warm in the throat, smooth enough. It is persistent and long. Open this bottle with aged cheeses, lamb chops, or pasta with wild game ragu.
