Northfield Artist Series NFA-F51I 5-Bar Bracing Mandolin - New

Northfield’s Artist Series mandolins are built with meticulous attention to detail from the finest tonewoods. This particular example has a carved Alpine spruce top and Northfield's 5-bar bracing system, a unique variation on the classic two tone-bar configuration. We find the 5-bar bracing produces is very responsive mandolin with a strong fundamental with a focused, sparkling upper register. The finish is spirit varnish which is softer and more flexible than nitrocellulose lacquer. Playability is enhanced with a fully radiused fretboard.The Artist Series mandolins were developed with extensive input from Mike Marshall, are produced in limited numbers and never stick around for long.
