Class: Intermediate Spindle 4-Week Series

Ready to expand your spinning horizons? This 4-week series is designed to take your spinning skills to the next level! Perfect for beginner+ and intermediate spinners, we’ll dive into supported spindle techniques and explore challenging, rewarding plant-based fibers like cotton and linen. Class Overview & Schedule Duration: 4 Weeks / 2 Hours per class Class Size: Limited to 6 students Skill Level: Beginner+ to Intermediate - Recommended for spinners with prior drop spindle experience (a great next step after our single-session or 4-week drop spindle classes!) What You’ll Learn In this series, you will expand your spinning toolkit with advanced techniques and new fibers: Supported Long-Draw Spinning using wool rolags and batts Spinning Plant-Based Fibers including cotton punis and flax/linen Supported & Top-Whorl spindle techniques matched to different fiber types Wet Spinning techniques specifically for linen Fiber Prep & Equipment Creation using blending boards and handcards, plus DIY lazy kate designs for easy plying at home Weekly Breakdown Week 1: Supported Spinning - Learn supported spinning using a supported long draw technique with wool rolags and batts Week 2: Cotton - Learn to draft and spin short-staple cotton punis using both supported spindle and mid-whorl setups. Week 3: Linen - Dive into wet spinning flax/linen using a top-whorl spindle to create smooth, durable thread. Week 4: Prep & Plying Strategy — Learn to create your own wool rolags on blending boards and cotton punis on handcards. We’ll also plan DIY spindle kates/lazy kates for plying at home so you can build a stash to spin on your own!
