TimberBright Wood Cleaner

What makes TimberBright so different? Well, a few things: Clean Smarter, Not Harsher Proprietary bio-enzyme action: Enzymes, encapsulate, slightly dissolve, then lift off surface contaminants like pollen, dirt, mold, and algae without etching the surface underneath. Plant safe: When properly mixed, it's gentle on plants, grass, and flowers. No rinse on the interior: When used at the proper strength, there's no need to rinse on the interior. Multi-surface convenience: great for wood, stone, brick, vinyl, and more one cleaner to rule them all! No harsh acids or bleach: won't etch surfaces, nor continued to degrade wood fibers over time. Any species: cleans any species of wood, finished or unfinished. Won't discolor high tannin species like Cedar or Redwood. Removes mold, mildew, algae, pollen, dirt, dust, bird poo, and more. Has no harsh acids. Has no bleach. Won't continue degrading wood fibers over time. Won't discolor high-tanning woods like cedar or Redwood. Leaves no off-gassing. Leaves no film when properly rinsed. It also works great on other building materials like metal, stone, and concrete without damaging the surface. Mixing Instructions Use a clean garden sprayer or 5 gallon pail to mix your cleaner. Mix with a paint stick or a paddle mixer to ensure the solution is thoroughly blended. Dial in the strength necessary for your cleaning: Exteriors: Mix cleaner with water in a 1 part cleaner to 2 parts water solution, or dial down to as low as a 1:10 solution, depending on the level of cleaning needed. Weather check: Apply product in dry conditions with surface temps between 40° – 90°F. Avoid excessive heat and direct sunlight. Check moisture content of the wood with a moisture meter and note the level before cleaning. After cleaning, allow adequate dry time to return to this level before applying other finishing products. Perform a test spot: While discoloration from TimberBright is very rare, occasional reactions can occur on surfaces previously treated with other products. Apply TimberBright in the strongest 1:2 cleaner to water solution in an inconspicuous area to ensure no discoloration will take place. NOTE: TimberBright is a cleaner. It does not bleach wood that has turned yellow and/or gray from UV damage. To remove UV-damaged wood fibers, start with Sashco’s CPR® Oxygenated Bleach Wood Cleaner and Brightener. You will likely have to follow with abrasives (sanding or media blasting). Do not use CPR on high-tannin woods like Redwood or Cedar. See the CPR instructions for more details. Interiors: Unless thorough rinsing can take place, only use at a 1:10 solution on interiors. At this concentration, rinsing is not necessary. Simply wipe and be done! Used rags can be washed in the normal laundry. Application Instructions 1. Remove any loose debris from surfaces. 2. Wet down surfaces and any nearby plants with clean water. If there’s any concern about sensitive plant life, cover those plants with tarps. In general, TimberBright is plant-safe when thoroughly rinsed, but sensitive plants should be protected ahead of time. 3. Apply the cleaner from bottom to top in an even coat using a brush or spray nozzle. Allow the cleaner to dwell for at least 5 minutes but not longer than 20 minutes. 4. For stubborn areas, scrub in the longitudinal direction of the wood grain using an RV soft wash brush or similar until the surface is clean. 5. Rinse thoroughly from top to bottom with clean water. Warm water is best and will be more effective but is not required. Rinse plants, as well, in the case of overspray. 6. Allow wood to thoroughly dry a minimum of 24–48 hours before applying any coatings, stains, or other products. Check with a moisture meter to make sure you’re back to where you started. Coverage Rate: 300 – 400 sq. ft. per gal. of mixed solution, depending on porosity and roughness of the wood surface. Mix anywhere from a 1:10 cleaner to water ratio for less aggressive cleaning all the way up to 1:2 cleaner to water ratio for more aggressive cleaning. Packaging: 1 gal. and 5 gal. concentrate Recommended Dwell Time: 5 minutes minimum, 20 minutes maximum Dry Time: 24-48 hours in ideal temps and humidity. Wood may take longer to dry in cooler and /or more humid conditions. Cleanup: Flush equipment and tools with clean water. Dispose of containers in normal household trash. For wood bleaching, use CPR Log Cleaner and Brightener.
