Anubias barteri var. Broadleaf is a hardy, slow-growing aquarium plant known for its large, broad, deep-green leaves and sturdy appearance. Its thick foliage makes it an excellent choice for adding structure and contrast to planted aquariums, while its low-maintenance nature makes it suitable for both beginners and experienced aquascapers. Like other Anubias varieties, Broadleaf does best when attached to driftwood, rocks, or other hardscape. The rhizome should not be buried in the substrate, as this can cause it to rot. It grows well under low to moderate lighting and does not require CO₂ supplementation, although additional CO₂ and nutrients can encourage stronger growth. Because of its tough leaves and compact growth habit, Anubias Broadleaf works especially well in low-tech aquariums, shrimp tanks, community tanks, and cichlid setups. Care Level: Easy Lighting: Low to Moderate CO₂: Not required Growth Rate: Slow Placement: Foreground to Midground / Attached to hardscape Propagation: Divide the rhizome Temperature: 20–28°C pH: 6.0–8.0 Important: Do not bury the rhizome. Secure the plant to rock or driftwood, or plant only the roots while keeping the rhizome exposed.
