Huaning White Jade Glazed Tea Filter / Strainer

We really enjoy using these filters. They are beautiful and functional. If you prefer to use a filter for your gongfu tea sessions these will be a beautiful addition. The filter material is a 150 mesh food grade nylon. Over time the cracks in the white jade glaze in this strainer will collect tea oils and will become darker. This is called "crazing". This tea strainer was made in Huaning ( 华宁 ). Huaning is a town in Yunnan province with a long history of ceramics. The locals harvest clay from the nearby hills. They source available minerals and hand blend their own glazes. Intense blues and greens are a common theme. We appreciate the connection this teaware has with Yunnan and puerh tea. Puerh is a product of the soil and hands of Yunnan, and so is this teaware. This tea strainer measures 9cm Wide x 3cm Tall. These filters are all very similar but being handmade have some small differences. The one you receive will be very close to the one pictured but may be slightly different.
