Aune SC1 EVO

The Aune SC1 EVO is a high-precision 10MHz master clock built to bring atom-level timing accuracy to a high-end audio system. It centres on a custom OCXO developed with Titans Audio Lab and tuned to Aune's acoustic signature, paired with a low-noise power design and both AC and DC power inputs. Finished in black or silver, it is designed to be the timing reference at the heart of a digital chain.Type and TechnologyThe SC1 EVO is an external OCXO master clock outputting 10MHz on four channels: two sine wave and two square wave outputs, each greater than 5dBm into 50 ohms. The four isolated outputs are phase-aligned to better than 0.00001 degrees. Frequency accuracy is within 100ppb with daily OCXO aging under 0.4ppb, and jitter of the custom oscillator is below 200 femtoseconds across a 1Hz to 1MHz bandwidth. Phase noise is specified at better than -100dBc at 1Hz offset, better than -125dBc at 10Hz, better than -147dBc at 100Hz, better than -155dBc at 1kHz, and better than -156dBc above 10kHz. A cascade symmetric low-noise power design regulates voltage in stages, and the clock integrates an ESS second-generation DAC-specific linear supply delivering 80dB PSRR and roughly 1uV output noise. The unit accepts both an AC input (110-230V worldwide) and a DC input for linear power supplies or batteries. Power consumption is under 20W with a basic warm-up time of around five minutes.What an Audio Clock DoesDigital audio depends on an accurate timing reference to reconstruct sound from data. Small timing errors, known as jitter, can smear detail and reduce imaging precision. A master clock like the SC1 EVO supplies a far more stable and accurate 10MHz reference than the clock inside most DACs and players; components with a 10MHz input lock to it so their conversion is timed more precisely. The clock itself produces no sound. Instead it disciplines the timing of the devices it feeds, which listeners often perceive as cleaner detail, tighter focus, and a more precise soundstage.Build and FinishThe SC1 EVO features a full-color display with a dedicated clock interface that monitors the core chamber temperature in real time, showing red during warm-up, yellow when operational, and green at optimal status.
