Perhaps the most evocative image in the Potteries landscape, The Three Sisters is a hand-crafted architectural sculpture by Chris Twigg — artist, model maker, and proud son of Stoke-on-Trent. The Three Sisters design is taken from the three towering bottle ovens that still stand together on the site of the Acme Marls factory found at Bournes Bank in Burslem, an enduring landmark of the Potteries they have become one of the most recognised symbols of Stoke-on-Trent's ceramic heritage. Twigg's sculpted interpretation of one of the trio brings that powerful silhouette into the home, capturing the grouped forms with quiet precision. Hand-cast in Jesmonite and individually weathered by hand, the piece carries the patina of the industrial age that shaped one of the most famous Potteries city in the world. No two pieces are alike.
