What's inside — and why the form matters Jamun Seed — fine powder Syzygium cumini. The seed of the Indian blackberry, dried and powdered in Indian households for generations and long valued in Ayurvedic practice. It carries naturally occurring glycosides — jamboline and jambosine among them — which is why the seed rather than the fruit is the part traditionally kept. A whole jamun seed is dense and woody. Ground fine, the surface area available to hot water increases enormously, and the water-soluble compounds reach your cup instead of staying locked inside. Karela (Bitter Melon) — fine cut Momordica charantia. Dried bitter gourd, studied widely for its naturally occurring charantin and polypeptide compounds, and a fixture in Indian cooking long before anyone isolated those names. Karela powder turns the brew muddy. A fine cut releases cleanly across a three-minute steep while keeping the liquor clear and the bitterness measured rather than overwhelming. Paneer Dodi — fine cut Withania coagulans. A small berry used in Indian households as a natural milk-curdling agent, and the ingredient here most people have never heard of. In folk practice the berries are soaked in water overnight and the water drunk the next morning. That detail matters more than it looks — paneer dodi's traditional preparation has always been water extraction. An infusion isn't a modern reinterpretation of how this plant is used. It's close to the original method, in a faster form. Cinnamon — fine powder Cinnamomum. Bark, ground fine. Its aromatic compounds, cinnamaldehyde chief among them, carry the warmth of the cup and round off karela's bitter edge. Cinnamon in stick form needs prolonged boiling to give anything up. Powdered, it infuses inside three minutes. Cumin — crushed Cuminum cyminum. A whole cumin seed has a hard outer coat and survives a steep almost intact. Crushing breaks it and releases the volatile oils that carry both aroma and character. Jeera paani is one of the oldest daily rituals in Indian homes. This blend borrows that logic. Black Pepper — crushed Piper nigrum. Small quantity, deliberate purpose. Piperine is among the most extensively documented natural compounds for improving how the body takes up other plant constituents consumed alongside it. That is why it's here — not for heat, not for flavour. The other eight ingredients work harder in its company than without it. Spearmint — cut leaf · Cut so the leaf keeps its structure and its cooling lift. Carries the finish of the cup. Cardamom — crushed · Pods crushed to expose the seeds. Aroma releases in the first minute. Lemon Flakes — cut · Dried peel and flesh. Brightness and natural acidity, so it never tastes medicinal. Why an infusion, not a capsule Each form is chosen individually. Grinding everything uniform would be cheaper. It would also cloud the cup, flatten the aromatics and waste the ingredients that need structure to release slowly. Dense seeds and bark go fine. Hard seeds are crushed to break the coat. Leaves are cut to stay whole. Hot water is an extraction method, not just a vehicle. Steeping pulls water-soluble compounds into a form your gut meets already dissolved. Nothing has to break down first — no capsule shell, no tablet coating, no compression to reverse. Nothing in here that isn't a plant. No binders, no fillers, no flow agents, no magnesium stearate, no gelatin. A capsule needs those to hold its shape. An infusion needs none of them. Pyramid bags, not flat. A flat bag compresses its contents into a wafer and water struggles to circulate. The pyramid gives 2.5–3g room to expand, so the whole quantity infuses rather than just the outer layer. The bag breaks down. Biodegradable mesh, not nylon or PET. No plastic, and no microplastic shedding into hot water. How to brew it Place one infusion bag in a cup. Add hot water, not boiling — let freshly boiled water rest for a minute. Boiling water scorches the aromatics and pulls harshness out of the karela. Steep for 3 minutes. Remove and drink. Each bag takes a second steep at 5 minutes, though the first cup is the better one. Our recommendation: up to 3 cups a day, after meals. Give it one to two months of consistent daily use. Herbal ingredients work on the timescale of habits, not doses — a week will tell you nothing.
