Greg Howe is the debut studio album by American guitarist Greg Howe, released in 1988 by Shrapnel Records. Produced by label founder Mike Varney and recorded at Prairie Sun Recording in Cotati, California, the album was released during the height of the late-1980s shred guitar era after Howe sent a demo tape to Shrapnel in 1987 and was signed almost immediately. The nine-track instrumental album favors groove-based funk and fusion over the neoclassical style common among Howe's Shrapnel labelmates, backed by poll-winning bassist Billy Sheehan and drummer Atma Anur. It went on to become Howe's highest-selling album and was ranked tenth on Guitar World's 2009 list of the all-time greatest shred albums, anchored by the opening tracks Kick It All Over and The Pepper Shake. Tracklist Track Title Length 1 Kick It All Over 5:04 2 The Pepper Shake 4:12 3 Bad Racket 3:44 4 Super Unleaded 5:39 5 Land Of Ladies 4:25 6 Straight Up 3:59 7 Red Handed 5:24 8 After Hours 3:34 9 Little Rose 7:01
