The Morin family has farmed around Bué - one of Sancerre’s most distinguished villages - for generations, gradually expanding the estate from 1.5 hectares to 10 hectares of biodynamically farmed vines on some of the finest sites in the region. Chêne Marchand is Bué’s most revered vineyard, and Pierre Morin’s 0.3-hectare holding lies perfectly mid-slope on a south-facing exposition of gravelly limestone soils. Naturally low-yielding, these vines produce a Sauvignon Blanc of striking concentration, structure and mineral precision. The nose is finely layered: orange zest and ripe gooseberry unfold alongside nectarine and subtle hints of crushed stone and fresh nettle. On the palate, the wine is vibrant and incisive, yet carries a quiet textural weight from its low yields. A core of saline minerality drives the long, persistent finish, which tapers with citrus tension and remarkable clarity. Already compelling in its youth, this cuvée has the balance and extract to evolve beautifully over the next decade.
