Vlamingi Tang – Naso vlamingii | Show-Size Saltwater Tang Description The Vlamingi Tang (Naso vlamingii), also known as the Bignose Unicornfish, is an impressive saltwater show fish prized for its striking coloration, active personality, and dramatic transformation as it matures. Juveniles have a more subtle appearance, but adults develop beautiful blue highlights, dark spotting, and bold facial coloration. Vlamingi Tangs are active swimmers and can become personable aquarium residents, often recognizing their keeper and eagerly approaching at feeding time. This is a very large tang, capable of reaching around 24 inches, so it is best suited for large marine aquariums with plenty of open swimming space. It is primarily herbivorous and should receive a varied diet rich in marine algae, nori, spirulina, and quality prepared foods.
