The preface reads, "Pour étrennes que repoit-on ?| Bijou, joujou, bonbon, | Chacun a les siennes. | En fait de joujou, | Voilà le bijou | Des Etrennes". Folding calendar torn on outer edge with loss to some text. A few marginal ink stains not aaffecting the text. All edges gilt. Later purple ink inscription on recto of preface, dated 1905. Provenance: Juliette Langlais. 28 x 44 mm. Original faux speckled calf; spine in compartments with five individual gilt religious motifs; covers with gilt mitred, pointillé, and arrow decorated borders. Complete with matching slipcase.
