Encens Roi begins with CO2-extracted olibanum, mineral and zesty, set beneath a fruited Roman chamomile and the almost saline freshness of schinus molle: the bark of incense trees crackling in a desert wind. Saffron then unfolds its leather and tobacco undertones, lit by pimento berry and carried by a carnal Atlas cedarwood. In the base, the divine and the profane answer one another — oud and cistus on one side, white cacao and vanilla on the other.
