It is a contemporary interpretation of traditional Kichwa trousers designed to fall below the knee, allowing greater mobility and comfort. Intended to be worn with knee-high socks or boots, the piece takes a more daring approach to everyday wear while celebrating androgyny and fluid expression Designed by Yana Manta (Kinoo Arcentales Cajas) and woven in collaboration with Kichwa families in Imbabura, Ecuador, the textile itself is an expression of Indigenous sovereignty and slow fashion. From fabric to finishing, it is 100% Indigenous owned and operated, a living example of Indigenous Futurism and the thriving presence of Andean creativity. This coat can proudly be worn by all.
