The Seiko Presage Cocktail Time HCB006J is Seiko's 145th Anniversary limited model in the Cocktail Time series — a watch whose design concept begins not with a specification sheet but with a cocktail glass. The cocktail it references is an original creation by Kishi Hisashi, owner of STAR BAR in Ginza and Japan's most celebrated bartender — a drink he has named "Edo Purple" for this collaboration. The visual brief for the dial was the way light enters that cocktail from above: the deep purple liquid becomes translucent at the surface, catching the bar's illumination as shards of gold falling through violet. The radial stamping pattern across the dial surface creates the effect of light refracting through liquid at depth.
