Ricolite (Serpentine) Mountain Lion by Lance Cheama

A forest and olive green veined ricolite, serpentine mountain lion carved by Lance Cheama looking slightly to its right side with big turquoise inlaid eyes. Lance has carved all the feet in the round with the legs carved in accurate proportion. There is a long tail bringing up the rear that extends outwards behind the body then curls upwards on the lion's left side. For the Zuni, the lion represents the guardian of the north - he is the master hunter, revered for intelligence, prowess and strength of will. The mountain lion enjoys the prestige of being one of the most capable predators, and therefore conveys to man a spirit to refine goals, preserve, and achieve.
