Burner Chardonnay 2023

Burner is a collaboration between winemaker Marty Werner and the Buis grape-growing family, made with fruit grown in Niagara Lakeshore. For this Chardonnay, we wanted to make something rich, generous and full of flavour. Golden in the glass, it opens with ripe pear, yellow apple and lemon peel, followed by white flowers, fresh hazelnut and a light seaside freshness. Give it a little time and softer notes of butter, cream and vanilla start to show. It’s broad and creamy on the palate, with more pear and apple alongside hazelnut and coconut flesh. Bright acidity runs through the wine, balancing all that richness and keeping the finish fresh and focused. This is a bigger, bolder take on Niagara Chardonnay and that’s exactly what we set out to make.
