VINTAGE 1960’s OMEGA DE-VILLE CALENDAR STEEL AUTOMATIC WATCH CALIBRE 560 COMPLETELY ORIGINAL
VINTAGE 1960’s OMEGA DE-VILLE CALENDAR STEEL AUTOMATIC WATCH CALIBRE 560 COMPLETELY ORIGINAL. This superb waterproof Omega is in exceptionally nice original condition. Housed inside the stainless steel water-proof case we find the Omega calibre 560 automatic winding movement with calendar. Manufactured in the mid 1960’s, this model is from the De-Ville range, a first for Omega, which used a two-piece waterproof case design with no removable back. This made for a highly waterproof watch. The movement is accessed through the front of the watch once the bezel and glass have been removed, very ingenious at the time. These fit very close to the wrist and are wonderful to wear, unlike the earlier very bulky Seamasters. The case is in excellent condition, with no dings or serious scratches and retaining the correct polished finish with nice sharp edges to the lugs etc. Measures 34.5mm across the bezel not including the crown and 40.5mm tip-to-tip. The silvered linen dial with simple baton divisions is in un-blemished condition, one of the best that we have seen in many years. The polished silver sword hands are the originals, as is the winding crown which is of the split two-piece type. Running strongly, winding and setting as it should. The original beads of rice bracelet is still in excellent order, opening and snapping closed firmly as it should. This will fit up to a seven and a half inch wrist. The Deville has now become a highly collectable Omega and this is a fine, honest example.
