Poetry Summer Camp for Teens - AM

June 15th-18th, 9:30am-12:30pm, Gr 9-12 Get ready to harness the muse and write a lot of poems! In this workshop, we will try various poetic forms, explore different subjects and themes, as well as practice the art of performance. One morning we will take a field trip to a local art gallery for ekphrastic writing (writing poems about art). Camp will conclude with a celebratory reading for friends and family at 5pm on Thursday, June 18th. About the instructor: Sarah Kobrinsky was the 2013-2015 Poet Laureate of Emeryville, CA. She is the author of Nighttime on the Other Side of Everything (New Rivers Press, 2019). She was born in Canada, raised in North Dakota, seasoned in England, and tempered in California. Sarah is also a mother, a folk dancer, and a martial artist.
