Set of Soane Shakespeare Keepsakes
This exquisitely decorated set devised by artist and illustrator Thea Mallory contains all you need to create your own Soaneian keepsakes. Each folded paper token is decorated with charming details from Clara Maria Pope's 1835 painting Shakespeare's Flowers, which can be seen on a tour of the Private Apartments at Sir John Soane's Museum. A special space at the heart of the heart of the folded packet is left blank for your message. Keepsakes were a popular way to send greetings in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, consisting of a square, hand-folded piece of paper that opened out layer by layer to reveal drawings and special messages enclosed within. Intent on reviving this charming practice, Thea Mallory has created keepsakes inspired by Sir John Soane's Museum for you to treasure or send to others to treasure in turn. Each pack comes with two richly illustrated paper keepsakes, a practice sheet to ensure your folding is up to scratch, and detailed instructions to create a charming memento of your visit. 160 x 160mm Printed on traditional laid paper A keepsake inspired by the art and architecture of Sir John Soane's Museum is also available here.
